Naches Trail is a 13-mile-long trail from Western Washington over the Naches Pass into Eastern Washington and follows a wagon trail used by settlers in the mid-1800s. The trail is fairly easy for most 4x4 vehicles and does not require any special equipment. It rolls through deep dark forests up to high mountain meadows with beautiful views of surrounding valleys, canyons, and Mt. Rainier.
This is an 8.5-km out-and-back trail near Chilliwack, British Columbia. Generally considered a lightly challenging route, it takes an average of 1 hour min to get to the end of the road / hiking trailhead. A high-clearance 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended, as there are many sections with deep cross ditches and a few water crossings.
A visit to Clear Creek Hot Springs is as much about the drive as it is about the hot springs. The springs are accessible via a relatively short (54km) drive along the Harrison East and Clear Creek Forest Service Roads.
Off-roading skills not yet up to snuff for difficult trails? Head to Lost Knife Trail. A trail perfect for many beginners, you can access this off-road trail from Highway 40, just north of Waiparous Village.
Although the trail is only 68 miles and can be done in 12 hours, if you really put the hammer down, the best way to tackle Whipsaw is at a leisurely pace. There are mud bogs, water crossings, steep hill climbs, and rock walls along the trail.
